Action/Adventure proved to be the most successful genre of 2010, with an intake of over £265million. Suspense films proved less successful as the genre of Action/Adventure as it encourages audiences to be more focussed on trying to work out why the situation in the movie is occurring. In contrast, the genre Action/Adventure more explicitly provides moments that make the storyline clear to the audience, therefore engaging them easier.
